Language Settings
PublishFlow supports multiple languages so you can work in the way that feels most natural to you. You can choose both your interface language and your book language independently.
Here is how it works.
What Languages Are Supported?
PublishFlow currently supports five languages:
- English
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Italian
You can use any of these as your UI language or your book language.
How to Set Your UI Language
Your UI (User Interface) language controls how the platform is displayed.
To change it:
- Go to your Profile Settings

- Select your preferred language by clicking on the matching flag icon. This will update your entire interface.

How to Set Your Book Language
You can choose your book language when creating a new book.
You will see this option when:
- Creating a new title
- Entering book details for an existing title
Simply select your preferred language using the** flag icon** when entering your book information.

Do UI Language and Book Language Need to Match?
No.
Your UI language and book language can be completely different.
For example:
- You can write your book in Spanish
- While keeping your interface and writing assistant in English
Best Practice
We recommend writing your book in a language you are fluent in.
This helps ensure:
- Better quality writing
- More natural flow
- Easier editing and refinement
Why This Matters
Language flexibility allows you to work comfortably while reaching different markets. You stay in control of your workflow, while adapting your content to your audience.
Using British or American English
PublishFlow allows you to control whether your book is written in British or American English through your Style & Tone Guide and **Writing Instructions, **both of which can be configured within the BRD Creator.
The platform is based on the Oxford English Dictionary by default and can therefore be easily tailored to your preferred English variant through clear instructions and style preferences.
If you would like your book to be written in British English, we recommend adding a specific instruction to both your Style & Tone Guide and Writing Instructions, such as:
Use British English throughout the manuscript. Follow UK spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary conventions. Examples include "colour" instead of "color", "organisation" instead of "organization", and "centre" instead of "center".
The more specific your instructions are, the more consistently PublishFlow can apply your preferred language style throughout your book.
