Book Optimizer: Overview

PublishFlow also offers an optimization tool for manuscripts created outside the app, focused purely on the quality of the writing. It can help you refine and humanize language (if AI-written), improve flow, and remove any unnecessary filler and repetition, while keeping the core structure and subject matter of your book intact. It is your final quality pass before publishing, helping you quickly turn a solid draft into a polished, publication-ready book without losing your existing structure.

Here’s everything you need to know about using the Book Optimizer effectively.

How to Use the Book Optimizer

  1. Upload your Book

Upload your manuscript as a .docx file. For best results, use a clear structure, a table of contents and clean formatting.

  1. Use the Title Tool

The Title Assistant can help you brainstorm new titles, refine your subtitle and optimize for your target audience.

  1. Add a Description

Provide additional context for your book. This helps guide the optimization.

  1. Use the Writing Tool

Humanize your text using the “Proofread” function, Fact-check your content or edit sections manually if needed.

  1. Format & Export

Finalize your structure and export your optimized manuscript.

Do I need book credits to use the Book Optimizer?

No. The optimization doesn’t require any credits.

Can You Add Chapters with the Optimizer?

This is not possible. The Book Optimizer is specifically designed for refinement, not creation. It works on the assumption that your book is already complete.

If you need to:

  • Add new chapters
  • Restructure your book
  • Expand on ideas

You’ll need to return to the book generation process, which requires a Book Credit.

Can You Use the Optimizer on a Finished Book?

Yes! And in fact, this is exactly what it’s built for.

We strongly recommend running your manuscript through the Book Optimizer once your book is complete. It’s the fastest way to upgrade the overall quality before publishing.

However, there are a few important limitations to keep in mind:

  • The Optimizer does not create additional content or new chapters
  • It does not reorganize your book structure or modify your outline
  • Imported manuscripts will not retain images or advanced formatting (aside from Title and Subtitle)

This is because the Optimizer focuses entirely on improving the text itself.
