Create your first book

Choose how to create the title of your book

To create a book, we need a book title. So, our first step is to find a book title. There are three ways to do this:

  1. I already have a finished title: If you already have a title, you can use it by clicking on the first option. You can later also optimize your title together with our tools.
  2. I don't have a title yet (Find book title from scratch): If you don't have a title yet, you can create one together with PublishFlow. It will ask you some questions that you can answer and based on them we then give you 5 title recommendations. After you have chosen a title you can still optimize and refine it further with our tools.
  3. Niche Analysis First: If you don't have a title and want to make the most out of PublishFlow, you can click on the 3. option and first make an in-depth niche and competitor analysis, to find the perfect positioning and concept for your niche. Based on this concept we then create 5 titles for your book. You can choose which one you like best and then continue. After you have chosen a title you can still optimize and refine it further with our tools. Here is our detailed article about our Niche and Positioning Tool.

1) I already have a finished title:

If you select the first option, you will be asked to enter your title and a few other information:

  1. Input your whole title (title + subtitle): Please paste or write your entire title + subtitle here. It is not the final title of the book; you can still edit it later together with our tools.
  2. Author Name (Pen Name or Your Name): Please enter the author's name.
  3. Describe what makes your book special (Your Positioning): Describe in a few words or sentences what the concept of your book is or what idea you have to make this book unique.
  4. Who exactly is your book intended for?: Add the target audience of your book, so we know who will buy and read the book and who the title needs to appeal to.

Pro Tip: If you book has a different buyer audience than reader audience, tell this to the AI in field 4. An example are kids books. The target buyer are the parents, but the target reader are the children. Mention both to get the best results.

2) I don't have a title yet (find book title from scratch)

If you don't have a title, you can select the 2. option. PublishFlow will ask you 7 questions. Based on them it will later create 5 title examples for you. You can select the one you like best and then continue and optimize the title further

  1. Main Keywords: Enter the main keywords of your niche. Ideally, at least 3, but the more the better, up to 10.
  2. Niche Name: Sometimes the "Niche Name" (how you talk about the niche, for example, with a friend. "I am currently working on a book in Niche NAME") is different to the keywords. Enter the word or phrase that describes your niche the best. If it is the same as one of the main keywords above, enter it again here.
  3. Unique Value Proposition (What makes your book special?): To make your book sell better, it needs to be unique. Tell PublishFlow what makes it unique, and we will use this information to create a title that incorporates this.
  4. Target Audience (Who is this for?): Add the target audience of your book, so we know who will buy and read the book, and who the title needs to appeal to.

Pro Tip: If you book has a different buyer audience than reader audience, tell this to the AI in field 4. An example are kids books. The target buyer are the parents, but the target reader are the children. Mention both to get the best results.

  1. Competitor Titles: Enter the titles from one to three of your competitor's books, so we know which title structure already works and sells in this niche.
  2. Competitor Weaknesses: Describe what your main competitors do bad or wrong. You can also paste one to three 1 Star Reviews here, so we know what customers of your competition think about the book and why they don't like it.
  3. Author Name (Pen Name or Your Name): Please enter the author's name.

3) Niche Analysis First

If you want to use our Advanced Niche and Positioning Tool to do an in-depth Niche and Competitor Analysis first, click on the third option.

It will direct you to our Niche and Positioning Tool. Here is our article on how to use it, step by step, to end up with a great book concept and title.

Select one of the 5 suggested titles

If you chose 2) or 3) you will end up with 5 title suggestions based on your input and our analysis.

Chose the one you like the most and continue. As soon as you chose a title, a book token will be used and a book will be created in your dashboard and library. You can still optimize the title further as soon as you have chosen one.

To optimize the book further after you created it, click on the book. Then the "Title Tool" will open. There you can edit the title and subtitle yourself, ask our AI Title Assistent for help or let it rewrite, optimize and refine your title.
